Finding Joy Through the Chaos of the World: Overcoming Trials and Tribulations

"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33

I am not sure of what may be going on in the world at the time of you reading this, but I know that trials and tribulations will take place in the lives of every one whether you believe in God or not. I have heard so many prophecies of wars and famines and I have even had dreams myself. Scripture tells us that we will hear about wars and even rumors of wars, but we are not to be alarmed because the end hasn't come yet [Matthew 24:6]. No matter what chaos is happening around you, don't be troubled with fear, because the Lord has a promise for joy in the middle of it.

We are living in uncertain times, but there is a certainty through it. The Lord is with us always. The same Lord that was with us in the good days and the days of peace is the same God that will be with us through chaos. He can give you a joy that makes no sense even in the middle of adversity and persecution. He can give you a joy that is everlasting in the middle of famine.

Deuteronomy 31:8 states "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."

As assurance, Hebrews 13:6 says "so we can confidently say, 'the Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?'"

Our joy is found in our confident hope of the Lord. We are not to have the same fears as the world has. When unbelievers perish, they have no one to turn to and no where to go in safety. But as for God's people, we have a hiding place under His shadow and we have a helper in the middle of the trial. The Lord is faithful enough to give us guidance through the middle even if His guidance is just to 'stand firm'.

There is assurance that comes with being on the Lord's side, that even if chaos and trouble is ensuing in the world it will not overtake us. The Lord will deliver us out of the midst of it!

If you want to find your joy in the middle of the chaos of this world, you must look to the Lord. He is the only one who knows you from the inside out and has the key to delivering you from what you feel today. It is His heart to. He delights in you. He loves to take care of you. Your situation is not a burden to Him. Your relationship with Him is His trophy and He is happy to have you as His child. This is joy right here! The God of the universe loves you and takes joy in you specifically! How can He not deliver you through the chaos of this world- it is His pleasure to. It's His pleasure to set you apart from the world so that the world knows that you are His and that you don't face destruction as others do.

Don't be afraid by what you see. Don't be afraid by what you hear. There may be various things to come but your joy in chaos lies in the assurance of the Lord. Trust and know that He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is there through it all.

I encourage you to sit with Him today and pour out your heart to Him that He may strengthen you in your faith and give you joy in the middle of the chaos.
